Silver Teapot - A Wedding Gift
The Fire Brigade established a tradition of collecting from colleagues, purchasing a Silver Teapot and presenting it to Firemen on their being married while serving with the Brigade. This one was presented to Fireman Jack Baker and is inscribed "Sub Engineer J. Baker - Sawbridgeworth Fire Brigade - 26th Dec. 1919".

With grateful thanks to Rene Heijlligers in Holland who found and purchased the teapot in an antique market in Holland a few years ago and kindly provided the photograph.
Control Room Clock

Clock presented by Mr. A.T. Watts who apparently was the first Surveyor & Sanitary Inspector to Sawbridgeworth Urban District Council (SUDC). His father was Mr E.T. Watts who was Surveyor to Haddam Rural District Council which until the SUDC was formed had administered Sawbridgeworth.
(With thanks for the research of Simon Lincoln, Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue)

Bishop's Stortford Ex Leyland
This photo of the Preserved Leyland Cub  AUR 551 with Wheeled Escape in 2001, with Andy Westwood driving and viewed with the permission of the then owner, somewhere in the West of Hertforshire. The  appliance was originally purchased new by Bishop's Stortford Urban District Council c.1935 with the standard Ajax 35' ladder but was converted to carry  the Escape in or around the late 1940's or very early 1950's.
Another Leyland DJH 523
This photo (left) was taken in South Street Bishop's Stortford in 1999. Again this is driven by Andy Westwood with his father at his side, an ex resident of Station Road  Sawbridgeworth. The event was apparently a procession of historic vehicles through the town. The  photo (right) is the same appliance - location unknown.
All 4 photos and information with thanks to Andy Ballisat (26/03/ 2021)
